The Asali Co-Op has a membership of 155 finest growers in Kenya and produces 1200 bags each year.
The coffee is harvested and is all hand picked and pulped in a wet mill, before being
fermented for 24 hours and dried on drying tables. It is during the drying stages that all defects
are removed by hand.
This Kenya AA Asali is grown in the Mt. Kenya highlands of Thika region at 1700 -1800 m above sea
level, home to top quality as a result of its climatic, geographical location and volcanic soil.
Through careful cultivation, nurturing and harvesting this coffee is among the truly
greats.rs in Kenya. It has got a network of permanent rivers and is wet throughout the year.
The area has two distinct rainfall seasons, long rains (March to May) and short rains
( October to November ). It has an equatorial type of climate with rich volcanic soils.
