Hacienda Trincheron

Porfirio Páez is part of the second generation of coffee growers which for 45 years has been cultivating the coffee plants. His mother, together with his partner Nicolas Suarez and Porfirio, a restless young man, decided to come to Trojas to plant coffee in a part that had many pajonales and they call it trincheron café criollo or typical. From there his adventure and love for coffee begins to this day.

Shaded coffee is the traditional cultivation embedded in family roots within an area that presents a model that is friendly to the environment, because it rests inside a national park, surrounded by water sources that are characterized by the non-application of any agrochemical. Therefore, it has achieved a balanced management of low impact with Nature. The Coffee Grower/Agro Café Aragua binomial is oriented towards good agricultural practices, where most of the work is manual, as well as cleaning and harvesting. Drying is carried out in drying patios until obtaining 10-12% humidity. The coffee is transported down the mountains using mostly equine animal traction.
